R.I.P. Rockstars (apology )

(BTW) R.I.P= Really Impressive People!!

My apologies to anyone who was offended by my post about the four amazing bloggers from the Rockstars Tribe. My intention was to curate their blogs and to do it in a humorous, family history themed way. I posted it with the intention of helping my friends out, not of hurting them.
Goes to show you the power of words and sarcasm!
Thanks to Stacey, Tim, Tejash and Vitaly.

Here's the original post!
Enjoy!

Do Not Stand at My Grave and Weep

Do not stand at my grave and weep
I am not there. I do not sleep
I am a thousand winds that blow,
I am the diamond glints on snow.
I am the sunlight ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn rain
When you awaken in the mornings' hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry,
I am not there. I did not die.
~Mary Elizabeth Frye

This post is a tribute to a few of my tribe mates from the Rockstars tribe on Triberr. Every once in a while I feel it's important to say thank you to the guys and gals there who help me spread my blog out to their readers, thus increasing my reach. This is a tongue-in-cheek post dedicated to four of those mates who are getting a virtual resurrection from the dead. 'Tis true, all of us do live in the real world and do not have the time nor inclination to "tweet", "poke", and "like" enough to satisfy the internet's insatiable appetite to know and be known, or to love and be loved. But guys! You matter! Keep up the good work that you do in the world! I chose them because I don't see them away from their blogs and would like to get to know them better! (And I DID get to know them better because of this post!)

So there you have it; Tim, Stacey, Vitaly, and Tejash. Hope there are no outstanding errors. If there are it's all our tribe leaders' fault. And if you are really nice, and point those errors out to me, AND if you have a blog, MAYBE you'd like to check out Triberr for yourself. Perhaps you need an invite? Leave a link to your blog address in the comment section and we'll see what's up! (Someday I'll figure out how to make the links work. No worries. Copying into the browser isn't too hard.)

      4. Hello Betsy

How are you doing? Well you brought
Tim back I see. I see him in my twitter
stream aging. Glad he back. I love his
blog. But I miss his follow Fridays comments.
Its funny because when Tim did his first Follow
Friday He would ask if Bonnie was a stalker or not.
It was close to what I wrote. But in the being I didn;t
no how to take that being called a stalker until
I spoke with a friend of our we have in common. After
that I would laugh when I seen that come up. lol

Stacey I've not talk to in awhile but the last I
heard from her she was still trying to decided on
how to take her blog in another directions or what
to do. But it has been awhile since I spoke to her.
In her last blog she does have an email on the bottom
and she will answer you. She did me last time.

        The other 2 blogger i don't no.

        I hope this helps

      5. Going social is not the small step we might think it is. I've been online for 20+ years. I've had several starts and stops along the way. Much inspiration, hope, thrill, and, yes, much self-embarrassment too. Sometimes, I was the bull in the china shop. Sometimes, the fool. And perhaps for a moment, now and then, the defender of all that is good and true - if you believe Christian Hollingsworth. [grin]

[Chorus form Rush's song, Tom Sawyer, is playing in my head]

The world is, the world is
        Love and life are deep
Maybe as his skies are wide

Online is as real as offline. Period. However, online is not always as relevant to you or me as offline. At any given moment, our own attention is captured where our hearts incline (or decline).

Attention is fickle and prejudiced like that. It is designed like that for our own survival, and, perhaps too, for our "thrival". For we also seek to thrive. That's why we're online - however you may define or dream what it means for you to thrive.

Most of us will make more mistakes online than offline. Most of us will fail more often as human persons in our online endeavors. Because, most of the time, it doesn't hurt as profoundly and immediately as offline failure. Literally.

There's also the other side of the coin: reward. The rewards for online presence may seem modest or, worse, paltry and meager.

Where am I going with this?

People come and go, online. Just like they do offline.

Our online foot print, however, does not wash out of the collective memory as quickly as footprints in the sand. Because digital memory is different. It will wash away but that depends on the success or failure of the network and platform. Most of us are not used to considering our foot print in the digital domain - let alone each step we made or make.

In Tim's case, I personally know that he has serious back problems. He lives with unending paid. This prevents him from supporting a sustainable online presence. He could be more upfront about his challenges. He contributes what he can, when he is up to it. But he accepts that his online presence and brand comes across as haphazard, unreliable, and unpredictable.

I got an email from him, yesterday. He writes:

"It's awesome to be mentioned by Betsy. It means I did something right once upon a time. Not much and nothing big, I know, but it was something that is a small spark of light in my darkness. I wish I could do more for the rockstars but I can't do much. But I'm not going to quit on you people. I'm not a quitter. Therefore, if you don't throw my useless ass out of the tribe, I'll keep doing what I can when I feel up to that.

Thank you for your patience. Tell everyone that I appreciate their patience. Because I don't have much going on. My life is shit. The shit is up past my eye brows. Being a part of the tribe is part of the air I breathe. Even as a black sheep. It's something in the face of so much nothing. Thank you. Thank you all.

I dedicate Whitney Houston's song, I look to you, to the rockstars. My eyes are full of tears right now and if you tell anyone that I get touchy feely, I'll break your face. Go find the song on youtube. Listen to it. That's what the rockstars tribe means to me. You can share this email with them."

        1. Thanks for sharing Tim's email.Hope your face mends quickly, Stan! LOL! Back pain (next to tooth pain and migraines) is really hard to deal with when it goes on for too long. Crawling on all fours is so demeaning!! LOL! (Yes, I was laughing because I've been there!)I don't know Tim, but anyone can feel his character through his words. I hate showing up late for a party! I wish I'd been around when he was.
The rewards for me are huge for being online. I've stretched and grown in a lot of ways. But really, I don't care as much about growing as I do connecting with people. It has been so fun.
As for mistakes, I have plenty of them under my belt and cringe when I relive them. I'm grateful that people typically remember the good we've done and not the bad or silly...and I love silly.
Thanks for thr Rockstar tribe, Stan! You are a lot of fun, too!

        1. I've been crying since early this morning when I learned she'd died.
Hit me hard. Maybe because life's struggles are so easily hidden by
everyone beneath the surface of what the world is allowed to see.
This song is so beautiful. And it speaks perfectly of her struggles and where
          she found strength.
          Thanks, Stan

      7. You have no reason to retract; there was no malicious intent, only love. Everybody has crap to deal with and it can cause the fickleness in social at times. You are doing great; march on.
